Do you dream of writing your own cookbook but need guidance, or simply a boost to get going? Come spend two packed yet relaxed days with me as I help you find your unique signature, organize and write your recipes and tell your stories around them. Whether you simply want to collect your family recipes, or one day try to secure a book deal, you will come away with a clear vision of your future book and insight into its potential path to publication. The workshop takes place in an immersive, supportive, group dynamic. An individual mentoring session with me is available after the course should you wish.

Our venue is the Tractor Shed Loft at Glensallagh Gardens, near Ballydehob, west Cork. It's a large, open, light-filled space overlooking beautiful organic gardens and the west Cork countryside, with its own kitchen. A beautiful, peaceful and meditative setting in which to start work on your future cookbook.


The details

Times: 10 am – 5pm Saturday, 10am - 4pm Sunday

Parking is a 300m walk (along a country lane) from the venue. Please wear comfortable clothes and shoes!

Lunch, coffee and teas are included both days with options for carnivores and vegetarians but I’m afraid we can’t cater for anyone with really serious allergies. Also, apologies, but as our venue is up a steep, iron staircase it is not wheelchair friendly. On Saturday night, we have secured a table at Restaurant Chestnut, Ballydehob. The restaurant has just won a Michelin star and is in high demand, so this is a real coup! Their fabulous tasting menu is 85€ and we hope you will join us for this exceptional experience if you sign up for the course. Numbers are limited. Accommodation is not included but we're very happy to suggest accommodation nearby and urge you to book early! (The cottage at Glensallagh Gardens sleeps 4 and can be booked here. )

I've published over 25 books, many award-winning, mostly in French, have hosted TV shows for RTE and BBC NI, written for ELLE, ELLE à Table,The Irish Times, The Guardian, Observer Food Monthly and am currently food editor with the Irish women’s monthly, The Gloss.
