Have you ever dreamed of writing a cookbook but don't know where to start? Come immerse yourself in the cookbook writing world on one of my first French retreats.

Our cosy venue at D'Une Île.

After hosting over fifty cookbook lovers and budding authors in four beautiful West Cork locations in Ireland, I'm bringing my workshops to Le Perche, Normandy, near my new French home. I am more than excited to be holding them in the exclusive surroundings of D'Une Île, Septîme creators, Bertrand Grébaut and Théo Pourriat's country house restaurant with rooms.

Come spend a day and a half with me as I help you find your unique signature, organize your recipes and tell your stories around them. Whether you simply want to collect your family recipes, or one day try to secure a book deal, you will come away with a clearer vision of your future book and insight into its potential path to publication. The workshop takes place in an immersive, supportive, group dynamic. An individual mentoring session with me is also available should you wish. // Venez passer un jour et une nuit au vert (réservez vite les chambres chez D'Une Ile si vous souhaitez y dormir!) pour trouver l'âme de votre livre, votre style d'écriture, organiser vos recettes et raconter vos histoires autour d'elles. Here's a feature about our wonderful venue.

And here are some comments from previous participants:

"I've been to a fair few writing courses but was attracted to this because of a personal project and I had never seen anything like it offered before. Trish Deseine is an accomplished food writer with many published books. When someone knows their trade/craft well, there is authenticity. She cuts through vagueness and wooliness to help you get to your goal. She's kind but couples this with a directness which is useful."

Sheeren K, writer and producer.

A brilliant few days, learning, laughing and eating! Nicola W, professional photographer, Dublin.

Initially, I attended because of the chance to meet a successful food writer and like minded people. To my delight, my very vague, long nagging, privately kept, germ of an idea blossomed into life, thanks to enthusiastic encouragement and nurturing ambience, all carefully curated by Trish. More than that, the weekend was an exceptional experience: a unique combination of authentic Irish food, inspiring surroundings, a beautiful location, and a generous host with unrivalled expertise. Carpe Diem!" John D Mulcahy, former head of Gastronomy Tourism for Failte Ireland, now specializing in research and writing about food and tourism.

Last July I took part in the "Write your own cookbook with Trish Deseine" workshop. There were 6 of us, some pros, some less pros and me, just an ordinary housewife thinking about compiling some home recipes for my daughters. My book is not written yet, maybe it never will be, but that week with Trish and my companions gave me such confidence that, well, it might be worth publishing! I had a wonderful week, everybody was different and yet so interesting and it was very comfortable to be gently but professionally led by Trish who definitively knows her job as a cook and writer of course but also as a mentor. I loved it! Muriel M. Ireland.

A unique mentoring experience. Trish guided us easily through what could be a tricky area: cookbook publishing! There was a wonderfully supportive group dynamic that Trish chaired gently, allowing space for voices and ideas to flourish. The depth of knowledge around publishing books is huge, only matched by her generosity in sharing what she's knows from her own personal experiences over years of publishing.
